Sonic Boom – A Review

Sonic Dash 2 is a classic endless runner where you can play as your favorite Sonic characters. It features Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy as well as a new character named Sticks. Each character has unique powers and abilities that can help you reach higher scores.

The story follows Sonic, Tails and Knuckles as they fight to stop Lyric from acquiring the Chaos Crystals. The group must put aside their differences and work together to defeat him.

Why did Sonic Boom get canceled?

Sonic Boom was meant to be a rebirth for Sega’s iconic blue hedgehog – with games, toys, and a TV show. Unfortunately, it fell flat on all fronts.

Ratings dropped significantly, from a high of 2,000,000 to a low of 150,000. That’s a big drop, especially when you consider that other shows on Cartoon Network can pull in 2,000,000 with ease.

It wasn’t a complete failure, however. The show did find new life with Netflix in the United States, who picked up seasons 1-2 after their original airing on Cartoon Network. The series currently resides on the streaming platform alongside other Sonic cartoons, including X and Adventures of Knuckles and Amy. Hopefully, this means that we’ll see more of the world of Sonic Boom in future installments, though it remains to be seen.

The show wasn’t doing well.

Although the show may not have broken any new ground in terms of themes or messages, it does bring a fresh take on a familiar franchise with plenty of action and lighthearted banter between Sonic and his friends. It also offers enough serious arcs to keep kids interested while still being fun. Whenever there is an action scene in the show it always delivers the goods with Sonic tearing through everyone like a videogame character.

The mobile game is decent but it suffers from a few flaws. Firstly, the physics aren’t perfect. The characters run and jump well but the frame rate chugs at times and Sonic looks more like he’s jogging than running at top speed. Secondly, the game features some rudimentary puzzle elements which don’t add much to the gameplay. You’ll have to find and hit switches, collect spare parts, and even collect crowns hidden throughout levels and hub worlds. These items allow you to purchase upgrades for your character.

The show wasn’t popular.

Sonic Dash 2 is a mobile game in which players control Sega’s iconic blue hedgehog as he runs through endless scenarios filled with danger. Along the way, Sonic collects rings (the game’s currency), stars, and power orbs. Power orbs can be used to upgrade his abilities, while other items can purchase improvements and new characters. The game also sets mini-challenges that require players to meet certain requirements — such as collecting a specified number of rings or running a specific distance — in order to receive rewards.

The game’s plot follows a redesigned version of the franchise’s main characters as they defend their village on Seaside Island from Doctor Eggman and his robot creations. The redesigned characters are Miles “Tails” Prower, the yellow fox and Sonic’s sidekick, Knuckles, the red echidna and leader of Team Sonic, and Sticks, the cyborg pig. Each episode features a different plot, though the recurring characters are shown in all episodes.

The show was canceled.

Featuring Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles “Tails” Prower, Amy Rose, Knuckles and the new character Sticks, this cartoon TV series takes a comedy approach with an emphasis on action. It is unrelated to the main Sonic video games and is considered non-canon.

The ratings for the show have been dropping and it seems like it’s going to be canceled. It’s a shame because the show was actually really good. But the bad news is that it seems like this will be the last season of Sonic Boom. This is due to poor mismanagement by Cartoon Network.
